Humaniq 3D People: Rigged Human Asset Library for Blender

Salman Naseem September 2026 8 min read

A beautiful render with nobody in it is a strange thing. Architectural visualization, street scenes, offices, cafes and stations all feel wrong when they are empty, because real places have people in them. The people also give the eye a sense of scale that no wall or window can. But adding believable humans in Blender has always been a headache: photoscanned people are heavy, cheap 2D cutouts look flat the moment the camera moves, and modeling and texturing characters yourself is a whole job on its own.

Humaniq, by polygoniq, is a human asset library built to fix that. It ships 119 human assets, 16 item assets and 2 crowd generator presets, all tuned to be light enough to use in large scenes. It is the newest addition to polygoniq's asset family, which also includes the well-known Botaniq vegetation library, and it works the same way, through their free asset browser.

This is a third-party addon, not made by BeingAnimator. It requires polygoniq's free asset browser, engon. Please also read the section below on how the assets were made: polygoniq states that AI was used as part of the pipeline, and you should be comfortable with that before buying.

What Is Inside the Library

The catalog is organized into clear categories, and every asset is tagged so you can filter down to what a scene needs. Based on polygoniq's documentation, the library includes:

Having families, workers and pets in the same library matters more than it sounds. A scene full of identical business people looks staged. A mix of ages, clothing and activities looks like a real place.

Rigged Characters You Can Adjust

Every human asset comes with a basic rig. It is not a full animation rig meant for acting, but it lets you make slight adjustments to a character's stance, so a person can turn a shoulder, shift a hand or change posture to fit your scene instead of being locked into one frozen pose. That small amount of flexibility is often the difference between a character that fits the composition and one you have to discard.

Colorize Layers: One Model, Many People

Reuse is the big risk with any character library, because viewers notice when the same person appears three times. Humaniq addresses this with colorize layers. You can control color and tone on separate parts of a model: hair, upper clothing, lower clothing and shoes. Change a jacket from navy to olive, or swap hair color, and the same asset reads as a different person. That multiplies how far 119 characters can go.

The Crowd Generator

For big areas, placing people one by one is not realistic. The crowd generator fills large areas for you and gives you editing options to steer the result: you can add collision so characters do not overlap, snap them to objects and surfaces, and adjust direction. Two crowd presets are included as starting points. This is the tool that turns a plaza, a station platform or a shopping street from a few people into a believable crowd.

See It in Action

polygoniq's launch video for humaniq walks through the library, the colorize tool, the rigs and the crowd feature in the viewport, which is the fastest way to judge the quality of the characters yourself.

If you also need greenery around those people, see our pick for Botaniq Trees, another polygoniq library that uses the same asset browser and the same approach to optimization.

Built for Performance

polygoniq says all human assets are optimized so large scenes stay smooth. The listing also notes the models are UV unwrapped, have manifold meshes and are textured, which matters if you want to render cleanly or make changes later. They support both Cycles and Eevee, and Blender 4.2 to 5.2. As with polygoniq's other libraries, the goal is background and supporting characters that look good at architectural scale, rather than hero close-up portraits.

How These Models Were Made (AI Disclosure)

This is worth reading carefully. polygoniq states openly that humaniq was made partly with AI. They used AI to generate the base meshes and textures as a starting point in a larger pipeline, and then every mesh went through extensive manual work: cleanup, hole fixing, UV unwrapping, and adjustments to faces and hands, with the textures also refined and corrected by hand. In their words, AI was used the way any other piece of software would be, to work efficiently while keeping their quality standards central.

Whether that matters is your call. For some studios and clients, the origin of assets is a policy question, so check that this fits your project's requirements. We are being upfront about it because it is in the creator's own description and it is the kind of detail you would want to know before purchasing.

Pick a Size That Fits

Humaniq is sold in tiers, so you can start small. Prices on Superhive at the time of writing are:

Purchases include 12 months of support and updates, and the license is permanent afterward. Renewing for later updates is optional and discounted. The product is new (about three months old with 200+ sales), so the library and reviews are still growing. Prices change with sales, so check the product page for the current figure.

Who This Is For

Who Should Think Twice

If you need fully animated, lip-synced hero characters, this is not that. The rigs are for adjusting stances, not for acting. And if your project has a strict policy against AI-assisted assets, the disclosure above is the thing to check first. Otherwise, the starter tier is a low-risk way to test quality on a real scene.

If your scenes look sterile because nobody lives in them, a light, consistent human library with a crowd tool is the fastest way to fix it, and the starter tier lets you try it for the price of a coffee and a sandwich.
